Eden Donahue

Eden Donahue, DNP, RN, PHN, NCSN, is an associate professor in the nursing program. She is passionate about providing care to marginalized communities. Her passion for rural and community health were cultivated when she was a student in Cal Poly Humboldt’s nursing program. After graduating from Humboldt, she served the North Coast community by working at a skilled nursing facility and then as a school nurse. Since 2012, Eden has stayed connected to Cal Poly Humboldt by teaching in the special education program summer session. In 2014, Eden graduated from Sacramento State University with a master of science in nursing degree. Eden began teaching at Sacramento State University in 2015, with a focus on community health, school nursing, and graduate courses. In 2018, she graduated from a collaborative program between San Jose and Fresno State University with a doctor of nursing practice degree. She completed a post-graduate training program with the Northern California Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the MIND Institute at UC Davis.
Eden’s passion for marginalized communities drives her research focus. Her research focuses on the lived experiences of marginalized communities, namely school nurses with limited access to services and people with disabilities. She is a proud member of the California State University system as a faculty member and an alumna. She is looking forward to serving the community and university that helped her become a nurse.
